I met Helen & Pete in Digbeth at the Custard Factory, a week or so before their wedding. Helen knew the area from working there and we had great fun exploring the graffiti walls and capturing images of them together.

ON THE DAY

On the morning of their wedding- a beautiful sunny September day, I met the girls in their local hairdressing salon Enzo. It was fun capturing the atmosphere in there before we moved on to the venue.

We headed to Gorcott Hall, a gorgeous intimate setting in Redditch.  It has a very personal atmosphere there as the wedding party has exclusive use.  It is a stunning country house with a beautiful garden that leads down to a lake.

The girls continued to get ready, listening to favourite music whilst having their make-up done. The boys soon arrived to get ready there too, which meant everyone was on look out so that Helen and Pete did not meet before their ceremony.

THE CEREMONY

The wedding ceremony was full of emotion with laughter.  Helen is naturally giggly and fun and she laughed and smiled throughout the ceremony and the rest of her wedding day.

Guests enjoyed a drinks reception outside in the beautiful sunshine and the day had a very relaxed, happy vibe.

After their pre-wedding shoot, Helen & Pete were really comfortable having their couple shots taken, as they had got used to me and my relaxed approach.  It was lovely to take them for a walk around the grounds to capture some images them alone together.

THE WEDDING BREAKFAST

The wedding breakfast was great fun- ahead of each table had been elected to carve the meat.  Looking the part, in a chef’s hat, they were great to photograph!

The wedding breakfast room looked stunning, with beautiful, personal details made by hand by family, decorating the tables.

Speeches were hilarious and also emotional.  There were tears and lots of laughter.

FIRST DANCE

Helen, Pete, and their guests partied into the night following their first dance to a song by their favourite band- Stereophonics.

It was a fantastic day and it was a real pleasure capturing it for them.
