Custard Factory Wedding - The Old Library

Nothing says relaxed and fun wedding more than a Custard Factory Wedding! Laura & Krishan finally celebrated their wedding day at The Old Library in Digbeth, Birmingham with their lovely family and friends during summer of last year.

I joined Laura and her bridesmaids at the Mal Maison hotel for bridal prep. Laura was really emotional as she got ready. It had been a rollercoaster build up to this day, with covid playing havoc with dates and planning. As make up progressed, the florist delivered the most beautiful wedding bouquets, with sunflowers and long coloured ribbons. I couldn’t wait to see the rest of the wedding details at the venue.

The Old Library

The Old Library wedding venue is gorgeous! A converted, victorian library, airy and full of natural light, in the heart of the creative quarter of Birmingham. Laura & Krishan had decorated the venue with bright, colourful details which looked brilliant. I headed over to join Krishan as he welcomed their family and friends, enjoying food and drinks, as they awaited the arrival of the bride!

Wedding Ceremony

Their ceremony took place in the large, main room of The Old Library, in front of the stunning victorian windows. It was lovely to capture this emotional ceremony- the look on their faces as they were announced as husband and wife was priceless! I don’t think they could quite believe they were finally married!

Laura & Krishan walked down the street lined with their guests, to be showered with confetti cannons (so much fun!). They caught up with family and friends during their relaxed drinks reception, enjoying the most delicious Indian nibbles and Ice cream! There was a relaxed, chilled vibe and it was so lovely to see loved ones enjoying being together again now that restrictions of covid had eased.

Custard Factory Couple Shots

As guests enjoyed drinks, Laura, Krishan and I headed out for a short adventure to explore the local surroundings. A Custard Factory wedding comes complete with the most amazing, creative backdrops for some great couple shots! It is such a fun space, these guys had a laugh as we captured their couple portraits. They enjoyed some moments away to catch up on their day so far, before heading back for their wedding breakfast.

Wedding Breakfast & Celebrations!

Laura & Krishan were welcomed in for their wedding breakfast Indian feast. Some lovely wedding traditions were celebrated, including Krishan giving Laura a necklace. Emotional speeches followed. These past few years has definitely brought emotion to wedding days and loved ones coming together has been such an amazing thing. Celebrations continued into the evening with a full dance floor and some amazing dance moves! Such an amazing day to be part of!
