I describe a lot of the weddings as fun- mainly because my couples tend to be laid back, relaxed and up for a laugh. Laura & Josh’s wedding at Ashton Lodge Country House could not have been more fun. It was the ‘my cheeks hurt from laughing’ kind of fun!
Ashton Lodge Country House is a beautiful venue in stunning countryside. Exclusive use makes it really intimate. It has the vibe of hosting one big party (which you are right??!). The girls were in full throws of bridal prep when I arrived in the morning. It was fun and relaxed. My favourite part of the morning was capturing emotional moments between Laura and her parents ,as they exchanged gifts.
The Ceremony
Ceremony’s can have different tones, depending on the couple, guests and registrar. The register conducting Laura & Josh’s ceremony has a brilliant sense of humour. She had everyone giggling their heads off- setting the scene for the rest of the day. Laura. Josh and their family and friends were such a laugh, it was easy to capture some crazy, hilarious antics through the day.
As guests enjoyed drinks in the beautiful sunshine, Russ Harvey, comedy magician kept everyone entertained- including me!! I never get tired of watching magicians at weddings!
Wedding Breakfast fun!
A guest at each table was nominated to wear a chef’s hat and carve the meat. This was good fun and everyone nominated took on the challenge! Emotional, funny speeches finished the wedding breakfast- with the most hilarious speech from best man Luke, who read out lyrics of a song written by Josh to Laura. One of the funniest things I have ever heard during a speech and it had Laura and Josh cringing!!
There was a gorgeous sunset for garden games on the lawn, before the party kicked off on the dance floor. I have never seen a bride throw a cathedral veil round the dance floor quite like Laura- there is certainly an art to it and she had some moves!
I loved every minute of Laura & Josh’s wedding- It makes me grin every time I look at these photographs!
